Michael is the chairperson of Ashton Community Trust management board where he provides governance and business analysis. He has a well established background in community development in North and West Belfast where he has been responsible for negotiating and influencing community sector change, enabling resident participation in housing redevelopment, establishing joint working committees at interfaces and implementing communication plans. Since 2005 he has been employed full time with Big Lottery Fund where he provides policy advice on strategic direction and investment.

Michael has a Masters Degree in Voluntary Sector management and is a PhD candidate at Queens University Belfast. He is interested in social innovation and collaboration opportunities to network and enhance community assets.
