Gazte Begirada is an innovative pilot project on youth and silver economy fostered by the Bizkaia Provincial Government in collaboration with the Danish Design Center and Agirre Lehendakaria Center - Euskampus. 

Main goals of this project are (1)  Building the Bizkaia of the future through the eyes of its young people, (2) Seeking new career profiles for young people, integrating them in the job market through silver economy and (3)  to create general employment for the youth in Busturialdea, emphasizing those jobs related to silver economy. Testing place for this project is BUSTURIALDEA COUNTY (Main municipalities: Bermeo, Gernika-Lumo).



  • May 2017: beginning of the DDC-Bizkaia government collaboration through ALC. 
  • September 2017: workshop with youth technicians from local councils and innovation experts, proposals on a potential pilot project. Once gathered and processed the information, ALC presents a proposal for a collective open innovation platform focused on youth and silver economy in Bizkaia.
  • October 2017: project design phase.
  • November 2017: training and beginning of the first phase.
  • Febryary 2018: local contrast session.
  • February 2018: first co-creation with local agents, focused on youth and run by DDC.
