The applied research laboratory Open North Montreal is exploring opportunities for future cooperation with Agirre Lehendakaria Center (ALC) in the field of governance and transparency related to data.

Following several years of relations with CRIEM-McGill University and social innovation stakeholders in Montreal, ALC has strengthened its line of digital work with the North American organisation, whose objective is to support municipalities and their citizens in their projects of becoming open smart cities.

After learning about the D2030 social innovation platform for fair and sustainable transformation in the Mondragón valley (Basque Country), Open North held meetings with a number of Basque public officials at different levels, such as the Basque Government, the Territorial Administration of Gipuzkoa, Donostia-San Sebastian City Council or Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, where they discussed matters related to more open and collaborative governance.

The visit also included a series of strategy meetings with key stakeholders such as Elhuyar Hizkuntza Teknologiak or Erasight.
