Agirre Lehendakaria Fundazioa is working in Colombia to drive community development Agirre Lehendakaria Fundazioa (ALF), in a partnership with ECOMUN (Economías Sociales del Común, a national cooperative set up by the Fuerza Alternativa Revolucionaria del Común (FARC) within the framework of the Havana Peace Accord for the process of the complete reinsertion of its ex-combatants) and LKS-ALECOP, is contributing to Solidarity Development and Peace Construction within the framework of the process of socioeconomic reinsertion of FARC ex-combatants.

The project, funded by the European Funds for Peace, has a core theme of a fish farming project that will be implemented in seven regional nodes in Colombia: Nodo Caribe (Pondores, Tierra grata, Montes de María), Nodo Nor-Oriental (Magdalena medio, Norte de Santander and Arauca), Nodo Suroccidente (Nariño, Cauca y Valle del Cauca), Noroccidente (Antioquia, Chocó, Eje cafetero), Nodo Oriental (Meta and Guaviare), Nodo Centro (Cundinamarca, Boyacá and Norte del Tolima) and Nodo Sur (Huila, Caquetá, Putumayo and Tolima Sur).

ALF is also carrying out a community listening project with the aim of learning what is happening in the reinsertion process in greater detail. The methodology created by ALF seeks to learn the reality of what is happening to detect opportunities and levers of change through the collection of people’s narratives. The listening project has been carried out in two localities in the region of Caquetá: Aguabonita and Miravalle.

These efforts link up with the cooperative reinforcement work carried out by ECOMUN plus the implementation of a platform for innovation.
