Agirre Lehendakaria Center has organized an event on the occasion of its 10th Anniversary to which it has invited its network of local and international collaborators to a symposium and a public event that took place on March 29th at Bizkaia Aretoa in Bilbao. The main objective was to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of the present and future of Basque society.
The Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, attended the event where he highlighted the value of the Basque model of Sustainable Human Development, "a model that draws on the principles of humanism, social justice, and human rights advocated by Lehendakari Agirre".
"Today we can affirm that the initial project promoted by Lehendakari Ibarretxe and a professional and enthusiastic working group is a reality that fulfills its objectives," he pointed out.
Research promoted by the Agirre Lehendakaria Center during the last 10 years has shown that the transformation experienced by Basque society cannot be understood without its cultural dimension.
In the morning, a symposium was held, which was attended by local and international representatives from the academic, political, social, and institutional world. They were divided into 4 technical tables that addressed the challenges and opportunities of the Basque model for sustainable human development.
In the afternoon, an event was held at the Bizkaia Aretoa, which was attended by the Lehendakari ohia Juan José Ibarretxe, the First Deputy Lehendakari and Minister of Security, Josu Erkoreka, the Minister of Education, Jokin Bildarratz, and the Rector of the University of the Basque Country, Eva Ferreira.
