Itziar Moreno is the Social Innovation Programs Lead at Agirre Lehendakaria Center (ALC), a Columbia University and University of the Basque Country academic partnership, established to share the Basque case of socio-economic transformation under extreme difficulties internationally. She currently leads the ALC´s collaboration with the International Labor Organization in Latin America and the design capabilities  of the Mondragon Open Innovation Platform. Prior to that, Itziar lead Agirre Lehendakaria Center’s Social Innovation Platforms in Biscay (Gazte Begirada), along with the Provincial Government of Biscay and Dansk Design Centre.

Regarding research, she also coordinates specific academic ethnographic projects in Agirre Lehendakaria Center, in collaboration with UMASS Anthropology, LSE Inequalities, CRIEM, Young Foundation and many Basque local agents.

Itziar Moreno holds a BA in Communications by the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) and her professional career started at the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum’s Media Department.  She is fluent in Spanish, Basque, English and German.
